At sea day

After a lovely day in Bergen and the most delightful biriani at dinner, I slept like the preverbial.
Breakfast in the cabin, I watched the sun break through the cloud on the horizon.
A thin sliver of ruby red heat poked its face through a crack in the smokey blue clouds, only to disappear just as quickly as it came.
Within minutes a blast of gold pushed above the clouds and then the full face of the sun was revealed. It really was like a golden jewel hanging low in the sky; the clouds, a most intricate setting holding the stone in place.
Ok, so leaving the lyrical, today is a lecture day with many activities running to keep even the most awkward cruiser content.
At 10:30am we have a destination talk on Trømso, our next stop. These talk about its history, why it came into being as well as what an independent traveller can see. We'll go mooching as normal.
The next talk is not until 14:00. This is about the wildlife of Norway. Its presented by a professional photographer so the shots will be spectacular.
Finally, at 15:30 there's a presentation about the Aurora borealis by Dr Mike Tribe. He'll give a couple of lectures I suspect.
The rest of the day?
Taking a walk on the promenade deck, chatting with Shirley and sitting in the library at one if the study desks exploring two point perspective through projection.
Yep, a very large grin forms on my face.
