An announcement, a storm, full steam ahead

There's a particularly nasty storm somewhere close with a 4m swell, high winds and driving rain.
As the captain needs to consider the comfort of his passengers we are going to be travelling at full power and arrive in Ålesund about 12 hours early. That way we can ride out the oncoming storming the safety of the harbour.
Passing the Foton Islands once more, we came across three ships; the sum total of our navy out on NATO manoeuvres.
Sad when one considers we once were a proud sea faring nation and now couldn't furnish an aircraft carrier without requisitioning troops off other ships.
They were a nice sight albeit a sad one.
So, that was a day at sea: hiding from the wond, leaving the arctic circle, watching the helicopters coming into land on the aircraft carrier, eating (naturally) and chatting with Shirley.
I did get a spa visit in as well as some art work in the library and a very minor wander around the deck.
A very quiet day really. Am looking forward to our last port of call.
