Gijon, Spain

An iconic symbol at the entrance to the marina.
Some of the buildings were amazing but most were closed. Shirley and I strolled round and enjoyed a wander around the marina side of Gijon.
The famous glass fronted balconies, common in this part of Spain. The weather is soft, with much rain keeping the whole of Galicia green and fertile. The balconies provide protection from all the rain allowing access even in inclement conditions.
Gijon is a large town/city with bucket loads of history. We saw just a tiny snippet of the place but our drive in on the shuttle revealed just how far the place extended.
It's an urbanisation one could come and spend a good two weeks exploring and still not see everything.
